Our Amazing Scafell Pike team raised £6,400

Last weekend our amazing Scafell Pike team raised £6,400 to help us continue our work. 30 people from across the British Armed Forces battled the wind and rain to climb England’s highest mountain.

Louise, founder of our charity said: “Little Troopers started life with a rainy fundraising trek up Snowdon back in 2011 but we thought we’d try a different mountain this year. The route was shorter but the climb was much tougher, especially with the bad weather. I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who completed the challenge and all the organisations and individuals that have supported us behind the scenes to make this happen. Little Troopers is a small charity with a big heart and your support means the world to us and means that we can keep providing the support all military children deserve.”

The group, which included four children, their families, serving personnel and other supporters. They safely made it to the top and down again with support from Raw Adventures mountain leaders.

7-year-old Isabelle was one of the trekkers who completed the climb. She said: “I thought it would be easy but due to the wind and rain it was tough. At times I got very cold, but I was determined to do it and I did! I raised more than £600 and I am really proud that I did it, so are all my friends & family.”

Zac, aged 9, also climbed the mountain. He said: “It was pouring with rain and the wind made it really cold at the top. I almost gave up but I’m so proud that I did it.”

The event was sponsored by Team Forces, an organisation supporting military challenges and sporting events. Thanks to Team Forces sponsorship, all the funds raised from the trek will go towards continuing our work. Our resources, initiatives and events support children who have parents serving across all three services.
